Hair Wrap and Spa Wrap are sold together as a Spa Set!

Norwex Hair Wrap
I have come to absolutely love the Norwex Hair Wrap (formerly Hair Turban). It seems so simple - and it is - but I absolutely can't imagine my mornings without it anymore. The Hair Wrap is this simple, absorbent hooded towel that is absolutely amazing at drying hair. It can absorb 70% of moisture, which reduces drying time and results in fewer tangles. Less blow drying = healthier hair, and who doesn't want healthy hair?! I have relatively short hair (chin length) and I love it. I can only imagine what a lifesaver the hair wrap is for people with long or thick hair. It can also be used to comfortably hold rollers in at night.

So, you might be thinking, how exactly does the hair wrap work? When you get out of the shower, bend your head forward so your hair falls towards your face - your chin should be near your chest. There is a button on the hair wrap (you can see it in the picture above) that goes in the back of your head, near your neck. I try to remember "B"=Button, Back. Then you tuck your hair into the front part of the wrap, twist the wrap, and hook the little loop (not pictured) around the button. You now have a secure, absorbent towel wrapped around your head. Your hair will be significantly dryer in a shorter amount of time.

  • The natural capillary action of the Hair Wrap's microfiber quickly draws in moisture, with no rubbing needed. And because there is little to no need for a hair dryer, the chance of your hair being damaged by heat is significantly reduced.
  • If you use a 1500-watt hair dryer 10 minutes a day, at 10 cents per kilowatt hour, your utility bill will increase by approximately $9 per year. Source: energyusecalculator.com/electricity_ hairdryer.htm
  • For ultra-shiny, super-luxuriant hair, once a week apply a deep conditioner to wet hair and wrap it up in the Hair Wrap. After 20 minutes, remove Hair Wrap and rinse conditioner out.

Cost Savings with Microfiber

by Candi Bezte, Norwex Science & Technical Advisor

North Americans may finally be catching on!

We've all known about the amazing benefits of microfiber cleaning for awhile - hospitals in Sweden and Finland have been using our products, or products very similar to ours for over a decade, yet, North Americans always seem to feel the need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to many environmental innovations.

This spring, the following article appeared in the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society Journal (volume 29, Issue 3, author Shelagh Damas) "Fighting Costs and Bacteria with Microfibre Cleaning." The article discussed how in the past "couple" of years a number of hospital facilities have switched to microfiber cleaning methods with the following results: The University of California Davis Medical Centre found a 60% decrease in lifetime cost savings for mops, a 95% reduction in chemical costs associated with mopping, and a 20% decrease in labour costs when they switched to a microfiber mopping system; Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC found significant savings in energy; The University of Massachusetts Sustainable Hospital Project noted decreased water, sewer, and chemical costs and found that the microfiber mops lasted 10 times longer than their traditional loop mops; and even more importantly, St. Jerome Hospital in Quebec was able to control their previously high levels of Clostridium difficile. Eight weeks after changing to microfiber cleaning methods, the number of infections dropped from 39 to 6, and over a year there was a 76% decrease in C. difficile infections in this facility.

The problem with C. difficile is that it forms resistant spores and so is difficult to kill - of course - WE know that removing is always the way to go ... and the microfiber was simply able to remove the spores from the surface, thereby dramatically reducing infection rates.

Environmental Benefits of Norwex

Candi Bezte Norwex, Science & Technical Advisor:
"When we do the majority of our cleaning with Norwex Enviro Cloths, Window Cloths, Dusting Mitts, Mop Systems, Body Cloths, and water, we must consider that we are not only saving on the amount of cleaning chemicals we use at that time, but must also consider the “bigger picture”.

By taking on a pollution prevention strategy, we are not only saving on the use of chemicals, which is much better for our health, indoor air quality, and the environment; but also on the production, containment, and shipping of single use chemicals. [Read more about household cleaners and chemicals here: http://www.fastgreenclean.com/2013/05/household-cleaners-chemicals.html]

An indirect environmental benefit of reducing the amount of chemicals that we use is realized in a tremendous energy savings over time, in part due to lowered chemical production, but also due to a dramatic reduction in the production and shipment of plastic bottles, which are later recycled (which also consumes energy) or worse, land-filled.

There are many existing and up-and-coming “green” cleaning products, but overall, there can be no greener way to clean than using a highly durable and reusable product and water!

In many locations, residential pollution plays a significant role in the health of local waterbodies. Many treatment plants are simply not equipped to handle the array of cleaning chemicals, personal care products, and drugs that we throw (or rather flush) at them on a daily basis.

The good news is – because we are, at least in part, at the source of environmental problems, we have the power to really make a difference through our daily actions!"

Did you Know?
Graffiti, or writing on walls, hasn’t always had a bad rap. In the ancient Roman world, graffiti was a respected form of writing—often interactive—not the kind of defacement we think of now. Inside elite dwellings, friends would write greetings around the edges of frescoes in the home’s finest room. In a stairwell, people took turns quoting popular poems and adding their own clever twists. In other places, graffiti included drawings such as a boat, a peacock or a leaping deer.
